Kolkata Fog: A Spice-Forward Chai Latte Made with Broth

A cozy chai with extra soul. This spice-forward latte gets its richness not just from warming masala and tea, but from a splash of our grass-fed beef bone broth. The broth adds satisfying depth and nutrients, making this cup as fortifying as it is comforting. Go classic with black tea and a caffeine kick, or skip it for a dreamy, spice-laced afternoon treat. Either way, it's cozy in a mug.

Makes one 8-oz beverage

Ingredients

  • 4 oz  Reclamation Grass-Fed Beef Broth
  • 2 oz masala chai concentrate
    • Or:
    • 2 tsp chai spice blend*
    • 1 black tea bag (optional)
  • 2-4 oz milk of choice
  • Raw honey, to taste

*We like Diaspora's chai masala for a bold, aromatic base.

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, bring bone broth to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add masala chai concentrate—or spice blend and black tea bag (if using). Simmer for 2 minutes.
  3. Whisk in milk and honey, and continue heating until tiny bubbles appear at the sides.
  4. Remove from heat and froth with a handheld frother (or whisk vigorously).
  5. Pour into your favorite mug, inhale the spice cloud, and savor this dreamy chai latter with boosted nutrition.

Serving Notes

  • For a morning boost, keep the black tea in; for a nightcap, skip it and let the spices carry you.
  • Swap dairy for oat milk if you want an extra creamy, café-style texture.
  • Pair with cardamom shortbread, biscotti, or a slice of ginger cake for peak coziness.
